I'm not really a Mitsubishi Evo boi, but two cool things about the Evo III: ultimate incarnation of the Evo models based on the fifth-gen Lancer (as the IV went to the sixth gen model), and probably the best thing is that it was the car Tommi Mäkinen drove to his first WRC title, so it's got the competition kudos. As a road car, 100k lighter than the newer models too which can't hurt. That Renault 17 Gordini towards the end was cool. I think Gordini was a bit of an option package on those rather than a dedicated performance model, but it's a neat shape. And Renault did rally those too!

I was hoping that the chapparal would have something to do with the crazy Chapparal can-am cars from the 60s

Important question I have for you, and thank you for your hard work in researching this conversion because I also have a 1969 Ford F-250 Camper Special with front and rear drum breaks that really suck that I would like to convert someday when $$$ is provided. The question is, what is the overall cost for this conversion including a new power booster and master cylinder and proportioning block for my truck, just a ball park figure that you spent back when you did this conversion on your truck??? I will add in the inflation cost myself😊😊😊

definitely a bit late to this but could i recommend swapping both the subframe and diff to an s13 parts? suprisingly you can find both of those in full sets for between 500-1000 dollars and they can come in handy down the line when you eventually have to do repairs. I personally also own a 1984 200sx and it has made finding parts for this car much much easier.

lol my build went about exactly as I expected It was referencing the John Dodd "The Beast" car, a real car that was on Top Gear at some point, and is essentially just a Rolls Royce Merlin 16L v12 engine, the aircraft engine powering the Spitfire (the real one is 27L, but I was limited by Automation) on wheels It's like 700hp and about as many torques, the IRL one has a TH400 3 speed auto, but I decided to put a manual in it for enjoyment's sake Also I could have shortened the gears a whole lot, I forgot you were running the totally-not-top-gear test track

Ah crap totally forgot about the interior camera. I only drove it in 3rd person because the leaning was so funny.

My own was Just what if Rover MG used a big turbo and the freelanders awd to turn the ZS into a rally contender, may have over worked the Sports compound (not even semi slicks) with 375hp but I'm sure the 3 people who would buy one would love that about it. Also glad Cone noticed it seemed floaty, been having that with my cars recently, not sure if I'm just missing something obvious with my suspension setups or I just need to crank tyre quality.

I agree that we should do more budget/poverty spec build offs some time. It takes a decent amount of work to make them look right and to make the suspension and drivetrain feel more budget focused

The lobster tires may not have been planned, but if you'd have missed them after saying that I'd have been disappointed.

Mine was the idea that the car manufacturer would run out of money for an engine so lease an old 30's aircraft engine from Napier. Splitting an H-24 into a flat-12 is just pure racing pedigree, clearly.

I really wanted to dislike this. Ive done hundreds of tires and valve stems for a LARGE motorcycle dealler in Ohio. That should be too much of a risk of a leak. But its still pretty interesting, and I'll have to try it on the bike now.
